EFD's core strength is its understanding of the political process both at the European Union and national levels. EFD's staff brings decades of experience in advocacy, strategic communications and lobbying, combined with in-house expertise on the issues we cover. We connect grassroots activists and community leaders who are working on-the-ground to counter illiberal ideologies with policy makers and media in Europe. Specifically, EFD's activities include:
- Publishing research and disseminating information about our issues of concern to policymakers and the media through private briefings, public events and media appearances.
- Providing media and advocacy training to the activists and grassroots organizations that we support and with which we partner.
- Facilitating connections between activists, policy makers and the media.
- Planning and implementing legislative and advocacy campaigns.
- EFD works closely with European institutions, civil society, and individuals across ethnic and political divides in support of democracy and freedom around the world. Our efforts also focus on the rule of law, gender equality, minority rights and independent judiciaries.
